Japan
Hokkaido, the northernmost of Japan’s main islands, is known for its volcanoes, natural hot springs (onsen) and ski areas. Remote, rugged and so picturesque, Hokkaido stimulates all the senses with the natural environment. Hokkaido's winter season gets upwards of 30 feet of snow. These images are primarily from Hokkaido, a few are from Tokyo and Kyoto. The peace, and tranquility, of Hokkaido are felt as one explores this region in the winter.
